Thank you for your interest in the 2010 Colgate Country Showdown.

All preliminary judging for the KYKC local competition will be done from recorded demos. There will be no live preliminary performances.

Each finalist will be notified and may perform 2 songs at the competition.

Our local contest will be held on Saturday July 17, 2010 at 5:00pm, at the Arbuckle Ballroom in Davis Oklahoma. The venue will be available for limited rehearsal and sound checks from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Our competition is open to performers 18 or older, or 14 or older with parental consent. All contestants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Be aware, the Arbuckle Ballroom serves alcohol, and no one under 18 is permitted to enter with the exception of the contestants as noted above.

You may email your contact information and demo of 2 songs you will perform, in mp3 format, to kykc@cableone.net with Colgate Country Showdown in the subject line, or mail your information with a CD or cassette tape to:

A back-up band will be available, however, all solo or non-band acts are strongly encouraged to provide recorded accompaniment music on CD for their performance. If you will need to use the back-up band, be sure to include the artists, titles, and preferred key of the songs you will perform when you send your demos.

Be sure to include Name, Age, Address, and Phone. All demos must be received no later than midnight, June 18, 2010. While every attempt will be made to return your recorded demos, we cannot guaranty they will be available for return.

We will mail entry form and complete rules and information to our finalists on or about June 23, 2008. Completed entry form and entry fee must be received back to KYKC no later than midnight July 9, 2010. Each act is permitted free admission for 2 guests. Admission for all others is $5.00 each.
